By helicopter transfer
We can also arrange helicopter transfers on request from Geneva, Zurich and Sion Airports.
By public transport
We recommend taking the train directly from Geneva Airport to Martigny, a city about a 30-minute drive from The Lodge, or onward to Le Châble, which is a 15-minute drive.
We can arrange transfers or taxis for an extra charge to get you to the chalet, or if you alight at Le Châble you can take the cable car directly to the lift station 250m from The Lodge, where we can pick you up. This journey takes around nine minutes and definitely has the wow factor! Please check with us at the time of booking for when the lifts are operating.
The train journey takes slightly less than 2 hours (2 hours 15 minutes to Le Châble) and is a very pleasant way to see some spectacular scenery around Lake Geneva
By hire car
If you’re visiting us for a longer stay or in the summer months in particular, we recommend hiring a car at the airport in Geneva.
This will give you the flexibility to explore the area and there are some fantastic trips to Italy and France which are only an hour’s drive from The Lodge.
Driving instructions
From the airport car park, stay in the left lane as you exit, as the turn off onto the motorway comes up quickly - make sure you follow the green 'Lausanne' road signs for the E25/E62 motorway.
For the first 10 minutes of your journey the mountains should be on the left side of the car.
Follow the motorway towards Lausanne for about 50km/31 miles) then look for signs to bear right towards Gd. St. Bernard (just like the famous dogs!). The route number to follow is the E62 (9).
Stay on this motorway for about 75km/47 miles (Lake Geneva will be on your right for a good part of the journey) until you see signs for Verbier (as well as for Martigny-Croix and the E27). Take the Verbier exit right.
You will now have come off the motorway and should continue straight on for about 5km/3miles until you come to a roundabout. Continue to follow signs for Verbier (straight over onto route 21).
Continue straight on for 15km/9 miles until you reach Le Châble. There will be a bridge over to a traffic light. Continue straight until you reach a roundabout where you follow the signs for Verbier (3rd/last exit as if you were almost turning back on yourself).
Follow the winding mountain road for 7km/4 miles until you reach Verbier.
Once you enter Verbier town you will automatically be filtered into the one-way system, which you follow to a roundabout in the centre. Go straight over the roundabout and then take an immediate right up the hill – along the high street (rue du Médran). The Banque Cantonale du Valais is on the opposite side of the roundabout and the turn to the right is before you reach this.
Continue up the high street to the Medran Lift station, which is on your left-hand side under the cable cars. Continue straight through the W Hotel, with a large silver W up on your left. Continue to follow this road up and around the right-hand corner, and about 500 meters down the road you will see The Lodge on your left-hand side (Chemin de Plénadzeu 3).
