The Lodge is a luxury catered mountain chalet in Verbier, in the Valais region of Switzerland, owned by Sir Richard Branson and run by Virgin Limited Edition. It sits at 1,500 metres, a five-minute walk from the Medran lift into the Four Valleys ski area, and offers all-inclusive stays with a private chef, indoor pool, hot tubs and a dedicated team.

During the winter season, The Lodge opens when the ski lifts operate – typically from early December to late April. It re-opens for the summer season in July.  

The Lodge closes during May and June and from October to early December. If you would like to hire The Lodge exclusively during those months, please call our reservation team for more information.

The Lodge accommodates up to 18 guests in 9 stunning bedrooms, including a Master Suite and a specially designed Bunk Room for up to 6 children.

During peak winter weeks, stays are typically booked on a 7-night basis. Shorter stays may be available for last-minute bookings - please enquire with the team.

Yes. Exclusive-use bookings are available year-round and give you the whole chalet, all nine bedrooms, sleeping up to 18 guests. You'll have complete privacy and a fully catered experience, with exceptional service, gourmet dining prepared by our private chef, and every detail taken care of from arrival to departure, including use of the indoor pool, hot tubs and other on-site facilities. You don't need to book the whole chalet. The Lodge is typically exclusive use only during the winter ski season, but during selected dates across the winter and summer seasons, you can book an individual room and enjoy the same all-inclusive luxury chalet experience, including all food and drink, as guests booking exclusively. Yes. Individual room bookings include all food and drinks, the same as exclusive hire, prepared by our private chef, who can accommodate dietary requirements and preferences given advance notice.

Yes, at any time, whether you're hiring The Lodge exclusively or booking an individual room. Children enjoy kids' welcome packs and activities including films, toys, games consoles, books and evening treasure hunts.

In winter, check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 11:30am. In summer, check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am. Early arrivals can often be accommodated, or alternative arrangements made, so let us know your travel plans in advance.

The Lodge is located at an altitude of 1,500m in the Valais region of south-western Switzerland, 51 miles east of Geneva. The nearest international airport is Geneva, around a two-hour drive away. Private planes can land at Sion Airport, just 45 minutes from The Lodge, and Zurich Airport is about a three-hour drive. Car, taxi and helicopter transfers can all be arranged for an additional cost. During the winter season, check-in is officially 4 pm. Check-out is officially 11.30 am on the day of your departure.  

In the summer months, check-in is officially 3 pm. Check-out is officially 11 am on the day of your departure.

If you are scheduled to arrive earlier, do let us know. If we cannot accommodate an early check-in, we'll make alternative arrangements for you in Verbier so you can get your holiday off to the best start.

The Lodge is just a five-minute walk or a quick chauffeured drive to the Medran lift station.

Yes. We recommend taking the train from Geneva Airport to Martigny, about a 30-minute drive from The Lodge, or on to Le Châble, 15 minutes away. From Le Châble, a cable car runs directly to the lift station 250 metres from The Lodge, taking around nine minutes. The full journey from Geneva takes just over two hours.

Yes. Helicopter transfers can be arranged on request from Geneva, Zurich and Sion airports.

If you're staying for longer, or visiting in summer, we recommend hiring a car at Geneva Airport. Ground transfers and taxis can also be arranged for an additional charge.

The Lodge sleeps up to 18 adults across seven bedrooms and two master suites, plus a separate Bunkroom for up to six children.

The Lodge has four room types. Three individually decorated Lodge Rooms (17 to 29m²), with a super-king or twin beds and valley views. Lodge Suites (28 to 33m²), with private balconies and large bathrooms with separate baths. Two Master Suites (41 to 47m²) on the top floor, each with a centrepiece fireplace, mountain views and a fully stocked minibar. And the Bunkroom (19m²), with three bunk beds, its own shower room, a TV and a games console, sleeping up to six children.

Yes. The Bunkroom sleeps up to six children across three bunk beds, with its own shower room, a TV and a games console.

Most rooms and suites at The Lodge have private balconies. The Bunkroom does not have a private balcony. 

Yes. The Lodge has an indoor pool for guests to use throughout their stay.

Yes. The Lodge has both indoor and outdoor hot tubs.

Yes. Guests can use the on-site gym, alongside the indoor pool, hot tubs and a eucalyptus-infused steam room.

Yes. The Lodge has a eucalyptus-infused steam room, alongside the indoor pool, hot tubs and gym.

The Lodge doesn't have a dedicated spa, but treatments including massages, facials and combination treatments are available on request. Guests can also make use of the indoor pool, hot tubs, steam room and gym. 

Yes. All meals and drinks at The Lodge are included for the length of your stay, on both exclusive-use and individual bookings. Guests can help themselves to drinks at any time, and every menu is tailored to your group by the chalet’s private chef.

A typical day starts with an alpine breakfast of warm pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, homemade jams and cooked dishes. Lunch is a lighter meal at the chalet, served on the terrace in summer. In winter, homemade cake and mulled wine wait for you after skiing. Dinner ranges from four-course gourmet menus to themed evenings.

Drinks are included throughout your stay, and you can help yourself at any time. Dinner often features Swiss wines, many of them rarely found outside Switzerland.

Yes. Menus at The Lodge are tailored to each group, and the chef can cater for allergies, intolerances and preferences. Please share any requirements with the team before you arrive.

Yes. The chef prepares lighter, healthy options for younger guests alongside the main menu.

On individual stays, breakfast is served flexibly and dinner is served at a shared table, or at separate tables. 

Yes. The team can book on-mountain lunch stops and restaurant tables in Verbier, and prepare bespoke picnics for summer adventures.

Yes. The chef can create celebration dinners and themed evenings for birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions. See Weddings and celebrations for more ideas, or speak to the reservations team when you book.

Yes. Verbier offers some of the most exciting snowboarding in Europe, just a short walk or drive from The Lodge.

Yes. Heli-skiing can be arranged through our concierge team, at an additional cost.

Yes. Paragliding can be arranged through our concierge team, at an additional cost.

Yes. Ski and snowboard equipment can be delivered and fitted at the chalet through our trusted local providers.

Yes. The concierge team can book lift passes, group lessons and private ski or snowboard instructors, and a local rental partner will deliver and fit ski and snowboard equipment at the chalet. These are charged in addition to your stay.

Verbier is one of Switzerland’s best-known ski resorts and the hub of the Four Valleys ski area, with over 400km of pistes and renowned off-piste terrain. In summer it is popular for hiking, mountain biking, yoga and golf.

Yes. Children of all ages are welcome at The Lodge all year round, on both exclusive-use and individual stays. Families get a personalised activity programme, a dedicated Bunkroom for up to six children, and menus designed for younger guests.

Every child under 12 who stays at The Lodge becomes a Lodge Ranger. On arrival they receive a welcome backpack, a Lodge T-shirt and a few surprises, and the team plans activities around their age, interests and energy levels.

In winter, children can go sledging in the garden, build snowmen and take ski lessons with expert instructors. In summer there is tennis, bike rides, nature walks and treasure hunts. Indoors, there are pool parties, movie marathons in the games room, a kids’ disco, storytime, cooking sessions and games consoles in the Bunkroom.

No. The Lodge does not have a kids’ club, and because the team is small, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during activities. Babysitting can be arranged for an additional charge.

Yes. The team can arrange babysitting with trusted local carers for an additional charge. Please give as much notice as possible.

Yes. The concierge team can book group lessons or private instructors for children, along with lift passes and equipment, which is delivered and fitted at the chalet. Lessons, passes and hire are charged in addition to your stay.

Yes, children can use the indoor pool, and pool parties are a family favourite. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Yes. Teenagers can share the Bunkroom with its games console, use the games room and pool, and join activities such as skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and tennis. The team can also arrange heli-skiing and paragliding at extra cost.
