Things to do
Mont Rochelle have been working closely with Virgin Unite to support the incredible efforts of ‘Together Franschhoek’. The not-for-profit group is made up of volunteers, supported by local and international businesses, NGO’s (non-profit organisation) and the community, that are providing crucial support to residents in need in the Franschhoek Valley.
The provision of food relief remains the primary focus and so far they have assisted the community in establishing additional food distribution points and the supply of fresh produce and ingredients, the installation of handwashing stations, and ensuring that social distancing measures and guidelines are in place.
Since 1 May 2020 Together Franschhoek have:
• 48,000 volunteer hours
• 34,000 kg of food processed
• 20,000 kg of citrus donated by local farmers; packed and distributed by 6 Franschhoek Lions Ladies
• 12 hand washing/sanitising stations installed
• 9 community soup kitchens supplied with produce
You can follow Together Franschhoek, and do support them if you are able to here.
