Just a leisurely stroll from the main hotel, The Country Kitchen welcomes you with rustic charm and the irresistible aromas of farm-to-table dining. Nestled beside Mont Rochelle's wine cellar, it's the perfect spot to soak up sweeping estate views while indulging in hearty, seasonal dishes and beautifully prepared gourmet picnics.
Come 1st September 2026, we'll be taking a break to freshen things up behind the scenes. Keep an eye out for our return.

Wine tasting
Take your taste buds on a journey with a spectacular wine flight at Mont Rochelle, where every glass showcases the essence of our vineyards. To heighten the experience, savour a handpicked selection of irresistible bites, each crafted to perfectly complement and enhance the wines in front of you.
While The Country Kitchen takes a break from 1st September 2026, tastings will move to MIKO - a different spot on the Mont Rochelle estate, but with the same spectacular views and the same award-winning wines.

Winemaker’s Dinner
Join us for a tour of our historic cellar with our talented winemaker, Michael Langenhoven, followed by a delicious five-course pairing dinner in collaboration with Executive Chef Terence Morris.

Picnics
Unfold your blanket beneath the vineyards, breathe in the Franschhoek valley views, and indulge in a Mont Rochelle gourmet picnic like no other. Each basket is bursting with artisanal delights, farm-fresh flavours, and sweet treats, all carefully curated to be savoured al fresco amidst the estate's most picturesque corners.
As we tend to a little behind-the-scenes work at The Country Kitchen, picnics for our external guests will return from 1st November - so mark your calendars, and we'll see you on the lawn soon.
Menus
From zingy black bean and corn taquitos to sticky BBQ-glazed pork ribs with a fiery salted chilli mayo, our menus have always been about bold flavours and hearty South African flair, celebrating the very best of local produce.
While The Country Kitchen takes some time for a little sprucing up, a lunch menu will be available at MIKO in the meantime. We'll be back with brand new menus when The Country Kitchen reopens its doors.
Opening hours
From 1st September 2026, The Country Kitchen will be closed for a little sprucing up. In the meantime, lunch and wine tastings will move to MIKO, and picnics for external guests will return from 1st November.

The Country Kitchen is a cashless restaurant. We happily accept most major credit cards including American Express, Visa and MasterCard.
