Explore Mallorca
By car, it is well worth exploring the surrounding area of Mallorca with its beautiful scenery and many charming villages. You will find art galleries, museums, shops, restaurants and beaches only a short distance away.
Sometimes when you are visiting a new place for the first it is difficult to know where to go. Here are some of our recommendations for towns to explore:
Banyalbufar - this is the closest town to Son Bunyola (about a 15 minute drive away) and is where most guests will have lunch or dinner at least once.
Valldemossa - is one of the prettiest villages in Mallorca, its picturesque streets are sprinkled with shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants - ideal for a romantic meal.
Soller - Popular with day trippers who arrive on the vintage train from Palma, Soller is known as ‘valley of oranges’ for its abundant citrus groves. Take a seat in one of the many cafes in the main square and enjoy a coffee.
Esporles - guests are likely to drive through Esporles on the way to Son Bunyola which is a 20 minutes drive from the estate.
Deia - this town is definitely worth a visit either for lunch or dinner. Deia is a beautiful, traditional Mallorcan town 40 minutes from Son Bunyola with great restaurants and small shops.
Cala Deia Beach - this traditional cove like beach rose to fame after featuring in the BBC drama ‘The Night Manager’ in 2016. With great local restaurants serving local fish and cuisine at good prices this is a perfect place to stop for an evening meal.
Andratx - this Southeastern town with its quaint rambling streets, rustic heritage and modern art galleries. Port Andratx is located a little further on from the town and features a working fishing port where you can sit outside one of the many cafés and bars watching the bustle of daily maritime life.
Palma - the capital of Mallorca is where you will find great international shops and boutiques. The waterfront Cathedral and the old town are a key feature to the city and worth a visit. Palma is where there is more nightlife, clubs and bars and is approximately a 45 minute drive from Son Bunyola.
