Dining at Mont Rochelle

There are two restaurants at Mont Rochelle. The Country Kitchen which joins up to our wine cellar – an ideal place for a light lunch in the sunshine. Or if you're after something a little more formal, MIKO is our flagship restaurant with impeccable 180-degree views over the Franschhoek valley and a stunning terrace surrounded by glass doors, giving guests the feeling of an alfresco dining experience all year round. Start the evening off with a refreshing cocktail from our bar and find a comfy space on the terrace to watch the sun set.

MIKO Restaurant

MIKO’s cuisine is best described as a taster to South African favourites - with a twist. We introduce guests to Cape Malay spices in our dishes as well as traditional South African fynbos flavour’s like Rooibos and Buchu. Childhood sweet treats like Sterri Stumpie and Meeboss can be enjoyed by those of all ages too! Each dish tells a story, meaning guests can experience a little slice of our South African memories.

We favour home grown and local flavours wherever possible and so our menu has been specially created to celebrate the finest ingredients that have made a short journey from source to your fork (some so short it’s just walking to the garden and back!). We work hard to reduce our food miles and we are proud to have some fantastic local specialities on our menus! And it doesn’t just stop at the food; at Mont Rochelle we are in a unique position to be able to serve a wide range of high quality wines from our very own vineyard. We’re all about footprints in the sand and not in carbon, so when you dine with us you can rest assured the food is sourced locally and responsibly. Think of it as you helping the environment – one bite at a time! Talk to one of the team to find out more about where the food on today’s menu has come from.
