At Ulusaba, kids aren’t just visitors, they’re our special little cubs. Our fun-loving team is experts at keeping your young explorers busy with exciting wildlife adventures, creative crafts, and outdoor games - giving you the perfect chance to relax and soak up the magic of the African bush.
Whether it’s spotting elephants on a bush walk, splashing in the pool, or discovering creatures great and small, every moment is packed with fun and wonder. Ulusaba Safari Lodge is the ultimate family-friendly getaway, where luxury meets wild adventure for explorers of all ages.
Keeping Busy

Embark on a thrilling treasure hunt, where Cubs solve clever clues to uncover hidden secrets and discover the magic of their surroundings. For the little explorers with a wild side, our mini-ranger course is a hands-on safari experience, learning to track animals, identify footprints and dung, all guided by one of our expert rangers.
Feeling creative? Cubs can become safari master chefs, spending the morning crafting and cooking their very own homemade pizzas or decorating delicious cookies for a tasty treat.
And for a truly special family experience, join our Pride ‘n Purpose tour, where Cubs and their families connect with the local community and discover the rich culture that makes this region so unique.
The Ulusaba Cubs Club
At Ulusaba, our youngest explorers are in for an unforgettable adventure! Cub’s Club is specially designed for guests aged 0-11 years old, offering a world of fun, discovery, and hands-on experiences in the heart of the African bush.
When our little adventurers arrive, they’ll be greeted with a Cub’s Club backpack, with fun and educational safari surprises, including their very own cap to wear on safari! Designed to spark curiosity and excitement, this welcome pack sets the tone for a magical stay.
Rock Lodge offers a personalised experience for Cubs, with a fantastic range of activities to choose from. Rather than a set programme, we let the little adventurers decide how they’d like to spend their time, ensuring every moment is filled with fun and exploration
On Game Drives
If your little Cub is six or older, they’re invited to hop aboard one of our thrilling game drives, an unforgettable family adventure filled with close-up wildlife moments and plenty of magic to spark their imaginations!
Just a quick tip: the roads can get a bit dusty, so don’t forget to pack some sunglasses to keep those curious little eyes comfy and protected as they take in the wild wonders around them.
Sweet Dreams
Kids of all ages are very welcome at Rock Lodge, however, we’re unable to accommodate Cubs under the age of 12 at Safari Lodge. In some rooms, we can accommodate kids on rollaway beds.
To protect the Sabi Sand Reserve, the place we call home, the total number of vehicles is limited. Sometimes this means we are unable to accommodate extra kids in rooms whilst Ulusaba is fully booked, but we’ll always make sure to update you at the time of booking.
Safety First
For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask that kids stay with an adult at all times while in camp, after all, even the tiniest insects can be quite feisty! Children under 12 should also be accompanied by an adult at the pool since there’s no lifeguard on duty. If you need a little extra help, we offer a babysitting service at no extra charge, provided by our caring off-duty staff who absolutely love spending time with kids.
The days can get pretty warm, so feel free to use our complimentary sun cream available in the communal areas. And to keep those pesky mosquitoes away, please remember to close your room doors in the evening and use the mosquito spray we provide - keeping everyone comfy and bug-free for a great night’s sleep.
