At Ulusaba, your wedding ceremony will be as unique as the two of you. When you arrive, you can explore and choose your perfect spot to say ‘I Do’, with our team on hand to guide you, making sure it’s just as you envisioned it.
Whether you choose to exchange your vows with your feet in the sands of the African bush, surrounded by its natural beauty, or within the comfort of the lodge, each option offers a magical backdrop that will make your special day truly unforgettable.
Please note that the ceremony and wedding dinner locations may vary based on the weather. Our event coordinator will handle all the arrangements, ensuring every detail of your special day runs smoothly.
Taste of celebration
After your ceremony and photos, take a moment to savour your next chapter with a personalised cocktail hour. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind, soak up the views, and enjoy the ambience of our lodges. For an extra touch of magic, you can add local entertainment, such as the incredible Marimba Band.
For larger gatherings, a bush dinner under the African stars provides an enchanting backdrop to continue the festivities.
Please note that bush dinners are dependent on both the time of year and weather conditions.

Ulusaba Choir: our talented in-house choir that performs during key wedding moments, such as the bride’s entrance and after the ceremony (included in the package).
Marimba Band: a local band playing handcrafted xylophones, creating a unique and atmospheric sound ideal for dinner settings (additional charges apply).
Justica Best Boy Choir: A men’s choir known for rich harmonies, perfect for welcoming guests to the wedding dinner (additional charges apply).
Shangaan Dancers: An energetic dance group performing African-inspired tribal routines, great for bush dinners with interactive guest participation (additional charges apply).

The formalities
We can host and arrange both religious and secular ceremonies, and included in our wedding rates, we will organise:
A minister who will process all the legal documents in preparation for the ceremony and prepare your marriage certificate.
Following the ceremony, you will receive an abridged Marriage Certificate. The minister must then apply for a full marriage certificate, which takes approximately two months to be processed by South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs. As soon as this is completed, it will be mailed to your address.
