When is Son Bunyola open?
In 2026, the hotel will be open from 21st March to 15th November. Our three villas are available all year round.

When is a good time to visit Mallorca?
Mallorca is a fantastic destination throughout the year, and the best time to visit depends on your priorities.
Summer (June - August) is ideal for hot weather, long nights and endless sunshine
Whilst the island is often associated with peak summer sun and vibrant beach life, there’s another side to this Mediterranean island that shines just as brightly. In the shoulder season (spring and autumn), Mallorca slows down and reveals its more intimate charm.

What are the check-in and check-out times for Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas?
At the hotel, our official check-in time is 3 pm.
For the villas, check-in is 4 pm.
If you’re scheduled to arrive earlier, do let us know and we’ll try our best to accommodate.
The time to say adios is officially 11 am on the day of your departure.

Are pets welcome at Son Bunyola?
We understand that your furry friends are family, too. Feel free to bring your pets along and make the most of our welcoming spaces. We've got everything covered to make your pet's stay as delightful as yours.
While our canine companions can’t splash around in the pool or indulge in spa time, they’re more than welcome in the exterior dining areas, as long as they’re on a lead.
Is the pool open for external guests?

Where is Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas located?
A scenic 45-minute drive from Palma, the Son Bunyola Estate is located on the island’s stunning north-west coast in the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage-listed Tramuntana Mountains.
The traditional Mallorcan villages of Banyalbufar and Esporles are a few kilometres away from Son Bunyola, providing a variety of restaurants, tapas bars and other local amenities.
A complimentary round-trip shuttle service is available from the hotel to take guests to evening dining and Saturday morning market visits.
How do I get to Son Bunyola?
To reach the estate, we recommend hiring a car for additional flexibility when exploring the area, although, of course, transfers can be arranged.

Do you offer airport transfers from Palma airport?
We can arrange private airport transfers from Palma Airport (PMI), which is about a 40-minute drive.
What should I pack?
If you are staying with us in the summer, pack plenty of lightweight clothes, a sun hat, sunglasses, a swimsuit, and comfortable shoes for walking.
Autumnal temperatures still allow for plenty of outdoor swims, so don’t put away your swimsuit or shorts just yet!
We’d recommend packing a light jacket and sweater too for chillier autumnal or spring evenings.
What's the weather like?
Mallorca has a Mediterranean climate, which means the country is typically hot and dry in the summer and mild and wet in the winter. It also boasts 300 days of sunshine a year.
Do I need travel insurance?
Insurance is always the guest’s responsibility. Make sure you have valid travel insurance that covers your trip.

Yes, take a dip into our heated infinity pool, and unwind in the hot tub - all with stunning sea views.
Do you have a gym?
There is a small gym on-site, which includes a treadmill, a stationary bicycle and a weight bench. This is located next to the yoga and beach volleyball court area. Opening times: 07:00-21:00
Do you have a spa?
Located on the ground floor of the hotel, you’ll find two spa treatment rooms, including a couples’ treatment room. Relax with our signature head-to-toe body treatment. Following a day of cycling in the mountains, soothe aching muscles with a pressure point massage or simply chat to our therapist to create a bespoke treatment.

Do you have a tennis court on site?
Yes, at Son Bunyola, our tennis court is open for guests to enjoy - no matter how much experience you have! The tennis court can be found by one of the Son Bunyola villas, Sa Terra Rotja, but is shared by the hotel and all three villas.
Rackets, balls and a ball machine are available, and it’s free to use.
If you’d like to perfect your serving skills, we can arrange a private tennis coach for an additional charge.

What are the villas like at Son Bunyola?
Son Bunyola offers three luxury villas (Son Balagueret, Sa Terra Rotja, and Sa Punta) with private heated pools, full kitchens, air-conditioning, Smart TVs, outdoor dining, ping pong, and access to hotel facilities like the restaurant, spa, and activities, and more.

Is there air conditioning in my villa?
Yes, all villas have air conditioning.
What catering options are available when staying in the villas?
Villas are booked on a self-catering basis, and the rates include daily breakfast at the hotel or villa.

How far are the villas from the hotel?
The villas at Son Bunyola are part of the same estate as the hotel, located within the same sprawling property in the Tramuntana Mountains, offering stunning coastal and mountain views, with some villas being a short walk or shuttle ride away, depending on the specific villa and its location on the estate's 810 acres. You can walk between some areas or use the estate's shuttle for convenience.
Dining
How many restaurants do you have?
We have one restaurant, Sa Terrassa, which takes its name from the stunning location in front of the Finca's striking facade.
Sa Terrassa is the hotel's main restaurant offering Mediterranean cuisine with sea views, open from March to November for hotel guests for breakfast, dinner and lunch and open to external guests for lunch and dinner.

Is there a bar at Son Bunyola?
Yes, there is a bar at Sa Terrassa and a poolside bar.
The poolside bar is for those who wish to enjoy a leisurely lunch by the pool or in a not-so-formal setting. Opening hours: 11:00-18:00
Are the restaurants available to villa guests?
Yes, villa guests can dine at the restaurant during their stay.
Can I visit for lunch or dinner if I am not staying in the hotel or villas
Yes, Sa Terrassa is open to external guests for lunch and dinner. For opening hours, check here.
What the type of cuisine is served?
Think fresh Mallorca flavours. The menu blends Mediterranean cuisine with local ingredients, complemented by a curated selection of wines from near and far.

Do you have vegetarian and vegan menus?
Yes, we have Vegetarian and Vegan choices. If you have any specific dietary requirements or food allergies, please inform your waiter before placing your order. Our chef will be happy to adapt any of our dishes whenever possible.
Are there family friendly dining options and menus available?

Things to do at Son Bunyola
What can I do during my stay?
Son Bunyola is perfect for unwinding with a pool dip, yoga, or tennis, all with stunning views. The mountains are great for hiking, and you can enjoy creative and culinary experiences. Venture to Mallorcan beaches and sail the Mediterranean. The property is also ideally located to explore some of Mallorca's most iconic cycling routes.

Is there a beach at Son Bunyola?
Yes! There is a beach on the estate that’s perfect for a refreshing swim after a leisurely stroll or bike ride from both the hotel and the villas. It’s a pebble beach, so we’d recommend taking appropriate footwear. You can follow one of the paths to the pebble beach and continue along the coastal path.
It’s a 40-minute walk to the beach from Son Balagueret and the hotel, and just 20 minutes from both Sa Terra Rotja and Sa Punta de S’Aguila.

Is the hotel suitable for honeymoons?
Yes, Son Bunyola is perfect for a Mallorca Honeymoon or Minimoon. It's an intimate retreat with limited rooms, ensuring privacy. Nestled in the mountains with vast sea views, ancient olive groves, and citrus trees, it's incredibly picturesque. Our hotel is a beautifully restored 15th-century finca (manor house) that provides a unique, authentic Mallorcan atmosphere. And during your romantic holiday, you can enjoy private dinners, sunset views, couples' spa treatments, and exploring the estate together.

What should I wear at Son Bunyola?
The atmosphere at Son Bunyola is relaxed and informal; however, you are welcome to dress up in the evening.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Mediterranean, prepare to bask in abundant sunshine during the summer months, with temperatures often higher than 30 degrees. Make sure to pack your sunglasses and plenty of sun cream.
For cooler evenings in spring, consider packing a light jacket to stay cosy.
In winter, be sure to bring a coat and some warm clothes for the evenings. Don’t forget to throw in your swimwear for those blissful days when you can soak up the sun and enjoy our heated outdoor pool.
What if there is a medical emergency during my stay at Son Bunyola?
Should any of our guests have health concerns, we have first aid equipment and medically trained staff. If necessary, we can arrange for a doctor to come to the property or transport to the medical centre. The nearest hospital is a 30-minute drive away. We recommend you purchase travel insurance which includes appropriate medical coverage.
Can I drink the water at Son Bunyola?
Yes - Son Bunyola is committed to reducing the need for plastic bottles wherever possible, serving filtered water in branded glass bottles, which are washable and can be reused again and again.
