Weekends in the Winelands with Mont Rochelle - for all South African residents

20th August 2020

This coming weekend officially sees the re-opening of Mont Rochelle Hotel and Vineyard in the stunning winelands of Franschhoek as it safely re-opens its doors since the whole world went into lockdown

The hotel announced its re-opening for Western Cape residents just recently, but following the President’s announcement at the weekend the luxury hotel will be welcoming guests for weekend stays for all South African residents with a special re-opening rate – and rigorous new safety measures in place.

For some, it will feel like a lifetime ago that South Africans were able to travel, so Mont Rochelle’s re-opening will come as a welcome break for some escapism in the heart of the beautiful food and wine capital of South Africa.

Boasting a unique hilltop setting with views overlooking vineyards and mountain range, Mont Rochelle is part of the Virgin Limited Edition collection of hotels and retreats owned by Sir Richard Branson. Its re-opening will initially see it offer guests luxurious weekend stays, as well as alfresco dining in its highly popular informal restaurant, The Country Kitchen.

Those looking for an evening drink while the sun goes down over the Franschhoek valley will also be able to take advantage of its 2-4-1 Sundowner offer on drinks, Fridays and Saturdays, between the hours of 5-7pm.

Re-opening rates start from ZAR 3,500 per person, per night and ZAR 6,000 per suite, based in the vineyard wing of Mont Rochelle. The offer is valid for arrivals from 21st August based on weekend stays (Friday – Sunday) and is subject to availability.

Included in the Residents rate:
• Accommodation in one of the luxury rooms or suites in the Vineyard wing
• Daily breakfast – enjoy this either in the comfort of the room or on the private terrace overlooking the stunning views of the Dassenberg Mountains, valley and vineyards.
• Complimentary minibar (restocked daily)
• Complimentary wireless internet
• Local taxes
Those who have missed out on a milestone celebration during lockdown or wish for some privacy with family and friends will also be able to take advantage of the hotel’s spectacular Manor House, perfect for an exclusive hideaway. Its beautiful four-bedroom villa is available to book, also at a special residents rate from ZAR 28,000 per night based on exclusive use of up to eight adults and six children (under the age of 16).

During a stay, The Country Kitchen restaurant is an idyllic spot for a light lunch in the sunshine or a relaxed dinner. The restaurant will be open for dinner on Friday and Saturday and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast will be served to guests in their rooms for the ultimate R&R weekend.
