Sir Richard Branson’s award-winning Moroccan retreat, Kasbah Tamadot to be the first episode of new series of BBC Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby
Sir Richard Branson’s award-winning Moroccan retreat Kasbah Tamadot is to be the first episode of the fifth series of the popular BBC Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby, which will air this coming Sunday 6th August on BBC2 at 8pm.
The show, known for going behind the scenes of some of the world’s most extraordinary hotels will see presenters Monica Galetti and Rob Rinder join the wonderful team at Kasbah Tamadot to learn first-hand, what it takes to deliver once in a lifetime experiences at this hotel and understand the genuine beauty of its people and the incredible heart-warming stories of its Berber community and the depth of work that has gone into its surrounding villages that make the hotel what it is today.
The hotel’s founder, Sir Richard Branson makes a star appearance in the show alongside Monica and Rob as he discusses why he bought it, how much the hotel means to him and shares stories of the work from the Eve Branson Foundation, set up by his late Mother. The show sees Richard join the team with Monica and Rob and even cycle through the Atlas Mountains, one of his favourite things to do when at Kasbah Tamadot.
Having only recently been named as one of the top 100 hotels in the world by Travel + Leisure and number two in the whole of North Africa, there is no denying Kasbah Tamadot’s reputation for being one of the world’s most extraordinary hotels. The first episode of the new series will uncover the inspirational stories from the people on property and Monica and Rob take a deep dive into understanding the beauty of the Berber culture that brings this incredible property to life. From staff that have been with the hotel from the very beginning to being taught English and how the hotel’s Eve Branson Foundation has created opportunities for local people in the High Atlas Mountains to make a meaningful difference to their families and community.
David Redouane, General Manager of Kasbah Tamadot commented “It is such an honour to be part of the BBC’s Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby and we couldn’t have asked for an even better duo in Monica and Rob to join our team and get hands on in creating incredible experiences for our guests.
“Monica and Rob – and the rest of the BBC crew, were an absolute joy to work with and our guests loved seeing some behind the scenes action of this incredible show. We took great pride in sharing everything that makes our hotel so special, as well as showcasing our incredible Berber culture and what it means to our team and communities.
“Sadly, we couldn’t keep them on as permanent recruits at the hotel, as we’re incredibly proud of our 100% Moroccan team and want to ensure we keep it that way!”
Kasbah Tamadot will appear on BBC Amazing Hotels; Life Beyond The Lobby on BBC2 on Sunday 6th August 2023 at 8pm.
