Location & travel

How do I get to the island?

Beef Island is where most of our guests will fly into.  This may be by private plane or a commercial flight. When you arrive at EIS you will be met by our driver and taken to the dock which is a two-minute car drive away. Here you will swap over to our speed boat which will bring you directly to Moskito Island in around 30 minutes.

St Thomas is a little further away in the USVI. As you are not in the BVI you will need to make your way to EIS or VIJ on a commercial charter flight where we'll meet you and take you on to Moskito Island. Alternatively, if you would like to come straight from STT you can charter a boat or come by helicopter.

You can find more information on getting to the island here.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

The earliest check-in time is 4 pm and the latest check-out time is 12 pm so to avoid any waiting time please book your flights to coincide with those times.

Does Branson Beach have a shuttle to the island?

Yes! Included in your stay is a speedboat transfer from Beef Island. Branson Beach guests arriving here will be met by our driver and taken to the dock, which is just a two-minute car ride away. Here, guests will board our speedboat for a 30-minute journey to the island.

You can find out more details about getting to the Island here.

What is the local currency?

The local currency used is the US Dollar but any extras such as spa treatments can also be settled by credit card.

What’s the time zone on Branson Beach?

Branson Beach is on AST all year round, so the clocks don't change and align with EST during the Spring and Summer and are one hour ahead of EST during Autumn and Winter. Branson Beach is five hours behind BST and three hours ahead of PST.

Do I need a visa to go to Branson Beach?

US, Canadian, UK & EU Passport holders with a 10-year passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date do not require a visa to enter the British Virgin Islands for tourist purposes, provided the stay is no longer than one month.

If you hold a passport from outside one of these regions, we strongly recommend that you check entry requirements with the nearest British Virgin Islands Consulate.

Rooms & amenities

What are the accommodations like?

Spread across 1,765 square metres (19,000 square feet), the estate features Headland House, Mangrove Villa and Beach Villa, offering a total of 11 bedrooms for up to 22 guests.

Find out more about each villa here.

What is there to do on the estate and on the island?

With steady trade winds, warm turquoise waters, beautiful walking trails, two tennis courts and masses more, The Branson Beach Estate is the perfect playground to explore both on land and on water. There’s an endless list of activities to keep you busy or to help you relax during your stay.

Central to the Recreation Area, and just a minute's walk from The Estate is the Beach House, with direct access to a white sandy beach, pool, huge hot tub and swim-up bar. Inside the Beach House, enjoy a game of pool or sit back and relax in the lounge area with your favourite show on the smart TV.

The Tennis Pavilion has a wonderfully relaxing observation area overlooking the two floodlit Astroturf tennis courts, with the grandstand steps working well as a seating area for spectators. Play a spot of tennis with the racquets and balls provided, and if you’d like to perfect your serve, lessons are available (an additional cost).

Make the most of the crystal-clear waters and the equipment that’s included in a stay. Try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling or Hobie Cat sailing.

Take a look at our Things to Do page for inspiration.

What should I pack?

The British Virgin Islands is a tropical destination, so think lightweight clothes, sandals, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, swimwear and plenty of sunscreen during the day and take a light sweater or jacket for the evening.

Unless a specially-themed event has been organised for your stay or you prefer to dress up for dinner, there is no need to bring smart clothes - beachwear can be worn anywhere on the island.

Is there Wi-Fi on the island?

We have Wi-Fi throughout the island, and most mobiles work as they would at home, so you can stay in touch with the rest of the world. If you plan on making voice calls via the cellular network, please check with your provider before leaving home, as charges will vary significantly.

Dining, island life & more

Can you accommodate special dietary requirements?

Of course, let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Every element of your stay will be hyperpersonalised, and that includes delectable tailor-made menus to suit any special dietary needs or preferences. Tell us your favourite foods and any dislikes in the preference form we sent you in your confirmation email, and your resident private chef will start concocting the most mouth-watering of menus before you even set foot on ithe sland.

Should I tip the team?

A 2.5% service charge is added to the rate and shared among the team on the estate. If you wish to recognise any or all team members, additional tips are entirely at your discretion. The Estate Manager can address any questions.

What happens if there is a medical emergency during our stay?

We have a fully qualified paramedic on the island, as well as medically trained staff and a specialist medical provider readily available 24/7 throughout your stay. The nearest doctor and hospital is 60 minutes away, and emergency evacuation is possible by helicopter, subject to weather conditions (medical charges will apply).

The BVI Government has done extensive work to better prepare the BVI hospital for any COVID-19 cases, and they now have new ventilators and strict procedures in place at the hospital to deal with any cases. We recommend you purchase travel insurance, which includes appropriate medical coverage.
