A message from Jon Brown, CEO, Virgin Limited Edition

We have missed you…

At Virgin Limited Edition, our guests are at the very heart of everything we do and whilst the most important thing has been to stay safe and look after our own family and friends, we have truly been missing you all.

We always remained optimistic that we would open some of our properties at the beginning of July and we were incredibly excited to re-open our much-loved Son Bunyola, in Mallorca on 4th July. This vast estate, on the island’s northwest coast, covers 680 acres of stunning landscape in the UNESCO world heritage site of the Tramuntana mountains.

Son Bunyola offers three very private luxury villas available for rental on a self-catering, or all-inclusive basis that are perfect for enjoying the Mallorcan sunshine in the privacy of your own space, in a truly stunning setting.

In more good news, we also re-opened the doors to Mahali Mzuri in Kenya’s Maasai Mara on 1st August and this couldn't have come at a better time as we patiently hope for the arrival in camp of one of the world's most spectacular live events - the annual Great Migration. In addition, we welcomed back residents of South Africa to Mont Rochelle in the beautiful Cape Winelands on 21st August. As we moved into September we were very excited to re-open our very special private game reserve, Ulusaba in the Sabi Sands on 18th September. October saw us re-opening the doors of Kasbah Tamadot, our magical Moroccan retreat in the Atlas Mountains. Much anticipated, we re-opened Necker Island, our tropical hideway in the British Virgin Islands, on 1st December and in time for the winter season, on 13th December we opened the doors to our Alpine hideaway The Lodge in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier.

In the meantime, our teams have been incredibly busy behind the scenes ensuring that we are in the best position to welcome back our guests with some of the most stringent new measures in place.

We have always been extremely proud of the incredible experiences we offer across all of our properties and what is more important now than ever is that we continue to share the Virgin Limited Edition magic, but in a slightly different way. Your safety and wellbeing always being our number one priority and you can find out more about our measures here.

For the past three months, our properties have sadly been closed to guests, but our staff have been at the forefront of ensuring we are ready to re-open and putting robust new practices into place that will not only adhere to all of the relevant local laws, but go above and beyond to ensure our guests have complete peace of mind and trust in everything we do, whilst still delivering the Virgin Limited Edition magic.

What’s important to remember is that we will always acknowledge that a stay at any one of our properties is an individual one and while you can trust that we will be carrying out the most detailed cleaning and safety measures, we will have complete flexibility in making your experience personal to you.

Whether that’s choosing not to have any housekeeping service, because that’s what you feel most comfortable with, or providing the same member of staff every day during your stay, we will do so in the safest way possible.

Just like before, all of our properties have either an on-site nurse or medically trained staff, should you ever need it and all of our staff will continue to be temperature tested daily to ensure you have peace of mind in knowing that our staff are well and there for you, just as they were before – even if it might mean some social distancing.

As we start to see glimmers of hope of our world of travel returning to us, it’s important for us to share with you all of the new measures we have been putting into place while we are still in the midst of COVID-19.

We fully understand that as much as we all want to travel right now, there are naturally still some concerns and that’s why our team remain at your disposal, ready to do all we can to reassure you and ensure that you can safely experience the magic, as you did before.
