Yesterday, thousands of runners took to the streets of London to complete the gruelling 26.2 miles as part of the Virgin Money London Marathon. The British weather remained at its unpredictable best in the week leading up to the event, but thankfully the forecast snow didn't make an appearance!
This year, four people across Virgin Limited Edition secured places. From The Roof Gardens, Romain Rousset, Acting Deputy General Manager, Stuart Key, Club Promotions Executive, and Pippa Aspinall, Events Diary Executive all took part. Ashley Crook, General Manager from The Lodge, also took her place on the start line. For Ashley, Stuart and Pippa this was their first marathon-experience, but for Romain this was in fact his 4th consecutive London marathon and his 7th in total!
All four of our runners finished with hugely respectable finish times. Here are their stats:
Stuart, Romain, Pippa and Ashley were all running to raise money for a number of fantastic charities, including Marie Curie, The Stroke Association, Oxfam and Starlight. Starlight is a charity that is close to The Roof Gardens heart, and is a partner the team have worked closely with for the past four years. It is a fantastic children's charity which brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by granting them wishes. All activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear and isolation they can often feel as a result of their illness.
To-date all our champs have collectively raised a hugely impressive £3,600, and counting. This total amount is likely to rise over the next few days as donations continue to fly in. If you would like to donate to any of our runners, here are the links to their donation pages:

From all of us at Virgin Limited Edition, we would like to say a massive congratulations to all four of our runners. Running 26.2 miles cannot be underestimated and completing the race in such fantastic times for such fantastic charities is simply brilliant! I hope you are all spending today with your feet-up drinking cups of tea!
