A few local primary school kids were invited to go on safari with our Guide team. We could feel the excitement straight away, and after a quick briefing we whisked them away on our mission.
Straight away we found a large herd of buffalo along with rhino, giraffe and zebra! After viewing the buffalo herd we found a mating pair of leopards which is very rare and special to see. On our way to have a quick break we bumped into a large elephant bull. Considering the weather was pretty wet and cold we were surprised with all the sightings we saw in such a short amount of time
After our break we headed back to drop off the kids home when all of a sudden a pack of wild dogs appeared in the road! What a treat. We spent some quality time with the dogs and emphasised how special these rare and endangered animals were. It didn't end there, as we approached the end of our time, a pride of 9 lions graced us with a final good bye and blew our minds about how successful we had been.
For the kids to see all the flagship species of animals was truly amazing and when they left we could feel that it impacted greatly on them. We spoke about how important our natural heritage was to all of us and how we have to preserve all the magical creatures for our future generations. We saw many birds and tracks of animals which the kids had to document in their wildlife books. They learnt a great deal from Johnny, Dan and Kaizer who hosted the game drive.
