Well 2010 certainly flew by in a flash and we are ready to tackle 2011 with great gusto! Firstly - lets start with HAPPY NEW YEAR! Also hoping that the Festive season treated everybody well and may 2011 be magic! The next day held was full of running around playing soccer and netball - 2 much loved games in the village of Dumphries. Again lots of fun had and plenty of juice consumed!
The Mahlahluvana Primary School Library is open and ready for use! We recieved over 10"000 books for this library - the kids will be reading for many a day!
On the 10th of December we had a very special birthday to celebrate - our little Prince turned 6. Prince now lives in Nelspruit - a town about 3 hours from his village, so the whole family was invited to join in the day of celebration. Early on the saturday - 2 large taxi"s picked up the family and we all drove through to the birthday party. Lots of cake, sweets, jumping castles, ice lolly"s and laughter was had. Prince certainly was King for the day! Thank you Sue, Nkosinathi, Simpiwe, Mbali and Prince for the magical day that the family still talk about! We are also very proud to annouce the opening of Mandla"s Creche. After 2 years of starting this project - we are happy to report that 17 kids are now registered to attend school in Newington Village. The 3 volunteer teachers have all been to teacher training sessions on different occassions and cannot wait to start imparting their knowlegde to the children. Watch this space for casinoslot.gr progress reports! December is the month for giving - our Local Spar - Ndlovu Spar - donated 35 food buckets for the Orphan and Vulnerable children of Dumphries Village. The homes were certainly appreciative of being able to have a festive dinner! Thank you Spar for your generousity! What has 2011 got in store for us - well a new computer centre at the high school in Dumphries Village for starters, a new entrepreneur on our books - Phumzile who wishes to open up her own store in Dumphries - the building has already started; possible sets of teacher training sessions for our pre primary schools; tertiary education busary's for outstanding community kids; revamp of a Creche in Dumphries; 2 new food gardens to be planted; and many more trees to be planted.... and this is all for the first half of the year - WOW - David and I better get to work! Hope you enjoyed the blog - and we will be back to keep you updated!
Lots of Love, Peace and joy
Lindsay and David!
