Hope all is well in your respective parts of the world. So, summer flew by, and we have already had the first snow fall of the season, and its only October! This does mean that all the signs are pointing to one thing - another epic season. The signs that 'La Nina', the sister weather system to the more well known 'El Nino', are set to bring a cold start to the winter, meaning that early snow will stick around, leaving a good base. Even if the lower resorts suffer later on the season, being so high here means we will benefit from a great season! In short - Get here its going to be great! Read on to find out whats new this year, and, see the first few pictures of baby Harry!
So, with early snowfall, we are looking forward to a bumper season, and we have opened the first week of our season up hotel style, meaning you can come from the 10th December, and party with other guests on a room-by-room basis. There are various options starting with 3 night stays, going up to a full 9 night stay! What better way to get some pre-christmas skiing in, when the slopes are empty, and if predictions are right, great snow! At the very least, great fun from The Lodge team! Talking of Team, we have a whole new line up of staff ready to rock you through the winter months, as we get closer to the time, I will begin introducing everyone so you have a heads up before you get here! The biggest news to start us off is that Gerwin, our amazing head chef is leaving us to pastures greener. We have at the helm of the kitchen Dan. Dan comes to us from Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons also, after having done 5 years in the kitchen there. For those of you having watched Raymonds Blancs Kitchen Secrets, you may well have seen Dan prepping and cooking quite a bit with Raymond, as one of his more senior team members, pretty good sign really! More exciting news in the kitchen is that Fabio is back with us for another season! After having taken a summer off to work in London at the exclusive members club Harrys Bar, he has decided that Verbier, and more importantly, The Lodge is the place to be, so for more of the Italian stallions kitchen exploits, stop in and say Ciao! More details and of course team photo of the really really good looking people coming soon!
What else is news? Well, baby Harry is just 5 weeks old now, and I know you have been waiting patiently too see some pics of him, so here we go:
As you can see, he is a real cutie! Mum, Dad, Harry & Bambam are all well, and looking forward getting the wee man onto his first pair of skis, well maybe not for a few winters, but soon enough!
On that note, I am going to head off, and see if there is enough snow to start on the icerink!
