The second half of the week was devoted to the big event - our Black Tie Circus Charity Ball. Ashley has been planning the event for several months now, organising every detail and spreading the word around town.
On Saturday evening the Branson family, helpers from European Snowsports and our Lodge Team, headed down to Cordee des Alps, a newly renovated hotel in Verbier, to host the evening.
The theme was black tie with a circus twist, with added flare encouraged that proved to be an instant hit, with some fabulous outfits on display! Canapes, served by our very own chefs and a little help from the boys at Cordee des Alps too, were offered throughout the evening. Also present was some fantastic music from The London Essentials, an eclectic 5 piece band, who play whatever music you want them to, whilst walking around and serenading the audience, and the brilliant DJ Ratty Ratcliffe or, as he was known on the night, DJ Bearded Lady, wearing a lovely little number and rounding off the night with some epic tunes for us to boogie to!
The highlight of the evening however, was the live auction, which helped to significantly boost the funds and got a few pulses racing too! Head Chef Dan sold for 2000CHF, and will be required to cook up a delicious meal for a lucky group of six, two couples bid to stay at Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco, and other lots, including a fabulous sailing trip around the BVI, really finished off the evening in style.
We are still waiting for the final count, but we are looking at an amazing 75,000CHF going towards the three charities! A stunning effort!
All in all, one very busy week, but one very successful week, and a week we should all be proud of. Well done to the team and Ashley, Gareth, Mike, together with everyone who helped out. A big effort but a really worthy one
