When the sun's shining it's no wonder everyone's first instinct is to get outdoors, and the Swiss Alps certainly doesn't lack for fresh air activities. Check out some of our favourite acitivites below all within easy striking distance of The Lodge in Verbier.
Verbier Festival: This year's festival celebrates 20 years of classical music with small and large concerts in venues around town, including free performances at some of the
cafés and bars. On the programme this year are works by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and many more with tickets now available from 19th July to 4th August.

Visits to Italy and France: At The Lodge we're only 45 kilometres from the borders of both Italy and France, so day trips are easy. Chamonix in France sits at the foot of Mont Blanc, Europe's highest peak and is well worth visiting. Aosta, in Italy, is near to some picturesque castles and the town itself has some delightful small delicatessens and cafés.
Mountain biking: Set off from The Lodge armed with a bike, a map and a camera and explore some of the spectacular trails for all abilities in the area. The Lodge team will meet you at a pre-arranged spot with a fantastic picnic lunch!
Canyoning: Suit up and get wet with canyoning, the only way to experience some of the local rivers and waterfalls. Don a wet suit and climb and jump your way down a waterfall and river bed with an experienced mountain guide to help you along.
Paragliding: Strap yourself in with a friendly pilot and see Verbier from the perspective of a mountain bird before gracefully gliding into land at the foot of the valley.
