Summertime in Morocco means fun in the sun, and while July and August are some of the hottest months, the coolest daytime temperatures can be found in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, which is about 10°C cooler than Marrakech.
With plenty of shaded seating areas, a refreshing outdoor (and indoor) swimming pool and a whole host of activities to enjoy, our General Managers Vincent Padioleau and Emma Savin share their must-do’s for a summer holiday at Kasbah Tamadot:
1. Take a morning walk
While the best months for hiking in the Atlas Mountains tends to be April and September you can still enjoy when it’s slightly cooler you can still enjoy a slower paced guided walk in the summer. Taking place each morning from 9am the complimentary walks are a great way to work off breakfast, whilst taking in those breath-taking views.
2. Movie night under the stars
There’s no better way to spend a summers evening than relaxing under the stars watching a film. We show lots of different films, with Casablanca being the firm favourite, every Monday & Thursday at our outdoor cinema which guests can enjoy for free, complete with popcorn of course!
3. It’s tomato season
July and August is harvest season for our organic tomatoes which are lovingly grown in our kitchen garden. We love it when guests explore the grounds and stumble across the kitchen garden as they can see lots of the ingredients that they’ve either just eaten or will eat later that day! We grow 24 different varieties of tomato, each one is carefully cultivated for their taste and then we incorporate them into our menus for our guests to try. One of our favourite garden to plate dishes is the tasty tomato salad which is simply drizzled with olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper and served with a basil sorbet – it’s delicious!
4. Revitalize at the spa
No stay at Kasbah Tamadot is complete without a little bit of pampering. Our Asounfou spa literally translates to the Berber word meaning relaxation, while our traditional Moroccan Hammam is the ultimate cleansing ritual. After soaking up the summer sun we do recommend a treatment, our spa therapists have an expert range of skincare and body treatments to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated, and totally relaxed of course! If you book a treatment ahead of your stay, you’ll enjoy 20% off.
5. Kasbah Kids
Kids of all ages are welcome this summer from 29th June – 8th September and with our ‘Kasbah Kids' range of activities on offer, there’s plenty to keep your little ones busy. The team can teach them to make some delicious Moroccan bread or cookies, they can splash around in the pool, go on a treasure hunt, have a Moroccan tea party…. the list is endless!
Kids also love to meet our resident animals (we have lots of them) there’s the mules, Paprika and Parmesan, 2 donkeys, 2 camels called Pumpkin & Pickle, 6 peacocks, 6 goats, 2 ewes and 7 ducks! Every Thursday at 6pm your little ones can discover the magic of Kasbah Tamadot with a lesson from our resident magician!
Make the most of the summer fun with our 3 for 2 free night offer. Book a stay at Kasbah Tamadot for this summer and enjoy a free night on us!
We hope to see you at some point over the summer!
