Lunch at Kasbah Tamadot
We are very excited to announce that we have just introduced a new Berber Tent at Kasbah Tamadot! This beautiful new tent has all the luxury and conveniences our guests have come to expect, but what makes this tent even more special is the private outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the idyllic Atlas Mountains. This is without a doubt the best way to soak up the views.
Check out our new Berber Tent!
In preparation for the new Berber Tent opening, we caught up with our General Manager, Vincent Padioleau, to really get the low-down as to what makes Kasbah Tamadot stand out from the crowd, as well as providing us with his expert knowledge for things to do during a stay:
In your opinion, what is the best room at Kasbah Tamadot?
I have to say my favourite rooms are the Berber Tented Suites. The Berber Tents are beautiful and are located in such a peaceful area within the property which is only accessible by walking through the Kasbah Tamadot gardens. They are perched on the side of the valley and have the most incredible views over the Atlas Mountains.
What is the hotel's most interesting detail or historical tidbit?
The hotel, including all the rooms and suites, is full of antiques collected from Asia and Africa. All the pieces were collected by the former owner who was an Italian collector.
What would you recommend as the best activity for tourist in the local area?
Spending time in the souks of Marrakech, haggling with the vendors and immersing yourself in the unique atmosphere is something that I always recommend for guests to experience as part of their stay. Morocco is really designed for tourists, so there are few activities that tourists would not enjoy! During my free time, I love taking the time to go for walks and have picnics in the mountains, so really getting the opportunity to explore areas off the beaten track.
What is your favourite bar in Marrakech?
The Churchill Bar at La Mamounia. The place is full of history, so during a visit it seems only right to order a glass of old rum and have a cigar.
What is your favourite restaurant in the local area?
Le Studio which is a small restaurant serving traditional French cuisine. The chef takes the time to explain his menu and takes your order at your table.
What is the name of the neighbourhood boutique you love the most?
I am not a great shopping fan, but I love the Berber Boutique we have at Kasbah Tamadot. It supports the local communities and the Eve Branson Foundation craft projects. We sell handmade clothes, rugs and traditional Moroccan items like jewellery.
Thanks for all the advice Vincent.
