Virgin Aware

At Virgin we've always been aware of how we impact on people, society, and the environment, and we've always aimed to act sensitively and responsibly.

Each individual Virgin business is involved at a community level to try to make a difference. Virgin Aware is Virgin's answer to corporate social responsibility. We want to make sure that it's not just a policy that sits on the shelf but it becomes part of our day-to-day work and responsibilities.

There are so many facets to Aware such as the supply chains & fair trade, ethical dealings with employees / customers, the local community and the environment and we know that some changes can be made immediately and others may take some time.

To date our efforts have focused on helping the locals in the community and changing our carbon footprints in the areas in which we operate. At Ulusaba and Kasbah Tamadot, projects have been established to provide schooling and health care to the local community whilst for example on Necker Island, we're currently researching the viability of wind and solar panel to generate 98% of our energy. There's a long way to go, but we're dedicated to making a difference.
