Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and throughout the year our teams work hard to take care of the environment and the local communities which surround our hotels and retreats.
That’s why we’re proud to be taking part in Earth Hour 2018 on Saturday 24th March at 8:30pm and supporting the One Planet Plate campaign. Take a look at just some of the sustainable activities happening across our properties:
Tuck into a delicious vegetarian dish at Kasbah Tamadot. Head Chef Yassine Khalil has combined traditional Moroccan cooking with fresh springtime ingredients which celebrates local produce and plant-based cooking. The dish features mhamsa (Moroccan pasta) simmered with vegetables picked straight from the on-site kitchen garden; seasonal asparagus, nourishing spinach and tangy tomatoes – click here for the recipe.
As guests head out on their afternoon game drives, Ulusaba will be switching off its lights throughout the evening. To save electricity and gas, all meals throughout the day will be cooked on an open fire, and dinner will be served by candlelight in the heart of the wilderness….it doesn’t get much more romantic than that!
Up in the Swiss Alps at The Lodge, we source as much of our food from local suppliers from the cheese to the wine, and wherever possible from nature itself! Our signature homemade apricot jam is made from apricots that are grown in our very own garden! For dinner, our head chef has added vegetarian-inspired dishes to the menu, topped with fresh herbs and paired with local Swiss wines (naturally).
