Summer has come a little early to the Lodge as we welcomed our first guests this past weekend. And along with their arrival came the beautiful weather – bright sunshine and a hot 26 degrees! A huge sigh of relief from us all, as the previous weeks saw Verbier experiencing a mix of seasons, including some snow (better late than never?!!)
We were all very excited to be back after a few weeks rest, and (after a quick catch up!) the team got to work preparing the Lodge for our guests. With the stunning weather we needed no encouragement when asked to give the garden a makeover! So, we were ready to greet our arrivals for a celebratory 40th birthday weekend. And what a way to get the new season started…
Champagne, sunbathing, beauty treatments, tennis, hot tub, 4 course meal, live music, dancing until the early hours…and that was just the first day!! Hannah and Bam Bam took the group of 18 for a walk on the mountain. A gentle stroll and some fresh air to clear the heads from the previous night. Ok, not quite as gentle as they had hoped, however, the group made it to La Chaux for lunch time and a mountain picnic was their reward. Inspired to see more of Verbier during their short stay, some of the group opted for paragliding with the twins from Verbier Summits as their preferred way of getting back down. The rest headed back to the Lodge a little quicker in favour of relaxing on the sun loungers with a refreshing glass of Pimms!
A barbecue was the dinner of choice and chef Dan did not disappoint, with his delicious buffet of marinated meats, fish and fresh salads. As night drew in, the group moved inside to the comfort of the sofas and waited until midnight to toast the birthday girl with Mojitos and Margaritas!
It was Monday morning before we knew it and sadly we had to wave our guests off, as their fun-filled weekend came to an end (not before taking a few group photos of course!).
All in all a fantastic weekend and great way to get the team revved up for the rest of the summer! If this sounds like your idea of a perfect break, please take a look at our website for more information on summertime at the Lodge.
The season will be kicking off in a couple of weeks so I look forward to keeping you up to date with our summer antics here at the Lodge.
