12 of our team from the British Virgin Islands took part in the Swim and Sound over the weekend. The event is organised by the Virgin Islands Sea And Rescue (VISAR ) a voluntary organisation dedicated to saving life at sea. It’s the biggest swim competition in the BVI and our local teams are very thankful for VISAR’s presence in the BVI waters and wanted to get involved.
The swim is from Saba Rock to Leverick Bay and our teams could either swim or do the stand-up paddleboard challenge. We’re so proud our team completely dominated the event with Kim coming 1st in the ladies’ stand up paddle board race and Mark coming 1st in the men’s two mile swim.
There was also a dog who entered the race – he got a time of 1:34, but we’re happy to report that none of our swimmers were beaten by the canine!
