About Us

"Limited Edition" usually implies something extraordinary and rare which offers something better, more exclusive and more desirable... well, that's exactly what we do!
Virgin Limited Edition is Sir Richard Branson's collection of stunning retreats. We have a private island, mountain retreat, game reserve, catamaran, lodge, tented camp, vineyard, restaurant, and a private members club. Eclectic, yes, but all are unique and operate with the sole aim of creating amazing experiences.

Virgin people are Virgin's greatest asset. That's why we believe in treating our people with respect, looking after them and allowing them the freedom to be themselves and flourish.

In 1970 when Richard Branson started in business, he put together a set of principles to define what Virgin should be all about. We believe these brand values are intrinsic to our goals and do whatever we can to bring these to life and deliver on our promises: caring for our guests, providing the very best friendly service, going the extra mile when it comes to those all-important extra touches, listening to our guests and offering much more than just a place to rest your head.

Executive Team

Jon Brown

Jon joined Virgin Hotels in August 1998 and was Operations Director for two years. He was MD of La Residencia in Mallorca before returning as MD for Virgin Hotels in late 2001. Jon has a wide range of experience within the hospitality industry, including positions in general and area management and group roles within Arcadian and Friendly Hotels. His current focus is on the development and expansion of the group. He’s also an avid supporter and season ticket-holder of Manchester United, which in no way puts him in conflict with Manchester City supporting Janet Hoolohan, our Sales and Marketing Director.

Janet Hoolohan

Janet's role focuses on the overall Sales & Marketing strategy for the group. Prior to joining Virgin, Janet held senior Sales & Marketing positions within Mandarin Oriental as Director of Sales & Marketing for both Mandarin Oriental and The Ritz Hotels in London. Prior to this she spent six years working for the Orient-Express Group. A graduate of the University of Surrey, Janet has a BSC Honours degree in Hotel & Catering and a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Janet is also a staunch supporter of Manchester City football club (Jon’s rival club!).

Steve Mitchell

Steve joined Virgin Limited Edition following over six years as Finance Director for Vision Asset Management. He is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience in the hospitality sector having held senior finance positions at such iconic hotels as the Dorchester in London, Sandy Lane in Barbados and the Grand Wailea in Hawaii. His current focus is on leading the commercial development of the business and managing the finance function. Our adventurous Steve survived a scorpion down his shirt in Barbados and a Portuguese Man o war (bluebottle) sting whilst windsurfing in the Bahamas. He has eaten rattlesnake in Arizona but prefers a good steak on the BBQ!

Tristin Swales

Tristin is the Group Operations Director for Virgin Limited Edition and is responsible for managing operations across the entire collection, as well as supporting new developments globally. Along with juggling his role at Virgin Limited Edition he also speaks Afrikaans and German, loves scuba diving and although he is South African he supports England in football.

Lyn Weimer

Lyn has been associated with Virgin Hotels since 1995 and has recently taken up the role of People Development Director. Prior to joining Virgin, Lyn held a number of personnel, training and operational roles in Forte Hotels and she has recently also carried out an HR consultancy role with clients from direct marketing and the charity sector. Lyn holds Hotel Management qualifications and is a member of the Institute of Personnel & Development. Lyn kept a pet tarantula called Morticia for 12 years and loves to wear anything and everything purple.

Rob Aquadro

South African by birth, Rob started off in (work) life as a quantity surveyor and oversaw the rebuild of Necker Island’s Great House following a devastating fire in 2011 provoked by a lightning strike. Although he prefers the sunnier climes, somehow he always ends up back in London under the grey skies – he loves it really.

Robert Speirs

Robert can speak French and Dutch and can read German which is why he earns the title of 'The Translator'. Focusing on the marketing activities for the group, Robert oversees the development of all websites and collateral, and day-to-day management of the marketing expenditure.

Brooke hails all the way from the sunny shores of Australia and is responsible for all the digital marketing activities for the Virgin Limited Edition portfolio. With her ever-present lively personality and solid background in online and social marketing, Brooke will be more than happy to answer any of your questions, even if they are ones about growing up by the beach.

Gemma manages the marketing activities for The Gardens, private members Club and Babylon. With her humour and quick wit Gemma is always making us laugh and coming up with fun ideas for our website and collateral. Ask Gemma to make a sign for you, she loves making signs!

Josephine loves her tea and can easily go through 2-3 cups a day! When she’s not drinking her tea she is a very important part of the marketing team. Her previous experience in hotel marketing has meant that she has been able to get stuck into various projects.

Natalie Odenbreit

Natalie is a what we call a ‘faffer’. It may take her a few moments to get herself out the door but when she does she's pounding the streets building relationships, looking for opportunities and training our tour operators and travel partners. She focuses on the key account management for the leisure markets in the UK, Europe and anywhere we don't have representation.

Katherine Beach

Katherine, the Northerner of the team, is from a little village in the North-East but now enjoying the bright lights of London. She first started working for Virgin Limited Edition in the Reservations department, before starting her role as Sales Co-Ordinator in 2011. Katherine assists the team with activities such as booking incentives, organising events, creating and distributing email blasts and keeping the Travel Trade and Online Travel Training websites up-to-date. Barbra was born and raised in the Philippines and speaks her native tongue, Tagalog fluently in addition to English. She came to the UK to study Masters of Arts in International Business but ended up working in the luxury hotel industry. Barbra worked for Virgin Limited Edition 5 years ago until she had to move to New York to follow the love of her life. She is now back and loving being with the team.
